Maneuver Around Hardcore Enemies with the Demon Hunter

Kiting Your Enemies
In Hardcore mode your Demon Hunter should not be getting hit very often. By setting two different snare abilities as your primary attacks you can keep all of your enemies far away from you. Kiting your enemies is easy with your Demon Hunter’s two primary attacks. You simply launch Entangling Shot at all of your enemies and since it is enhanced with the chain gang skill rune you can snare four of them at a time. Whenever you have enough Hatred you can launch a few Elemental Arrows to slow your enemies even further with help from the Frost Arrow skill rune.
As a last resort you can push back all of your enemies with Rain of Vengeance and the Stampede skill rune.
Maneuver Around Your Enemies
It’s important that you stay away from
your enemies as a Demon Hunter. While you should be able to take a hit from most foes, some of the elite enemies will take you out very quickly. With Caltrops and the Tortuous Ground skill rune and Vault with the Rattling Roll skill rune you should be able to evade your enemies even when kiting them has failed.
Caltrops traps should be laid out before you start any fight. They serve as a safety net if your enemies get too close to you. As soon as they go off you know you have time to run back and begin your attack once again.
With your enhanced Vault you can launch yourself away from enemies and then run to safety without a problem. As long as you keep enough discipline available to use Vault you should never die in combat which is very important in Hardcore mode.
Self Healing
The Demon Hunter doesn’t have many ways to heal himself, but with Shadow Power enhanced with Shadow Glide and Brooding you should be able to maintain a high health pool. By using Shadow Power regularly you should be able to maintain your health even when you aren’t finding many Health Globes. The passive Brooding will ensure that your health is going up all the time as long as you are able to stay out of reach of your enemies.
Maintain Your Discipline
With this high Discipline build its vital that you maintain your Discipline or you won’t be able to survive for very long. With your two remaining passive abilities you can keep those Discipline levels up most of the time and give yourself the tools for survival.
With the Night Stalker passive you have a chance to gain one Discipline each time you get a critical hit. Sharpshooter helps ensure that you are getting critical hits pretty often by boosting up your critical hit chance constantly. By getting both of these abilities you should gain a steady stream of Discipline throughout your fights.
Have Fun!
