Mists of Pandaria Introduces AoE Group Loot

Mists of Pandaria Introduces AoE Group Loot

Tol Barad
If there’s one thing that has long been a problem for those who use AoE for leveling, it has to be running from one dead mob to the next to get loot.  Not only does this take time and effort, but depending on where you are leveling, it can create more problems
than most of the loot is really worth.  At the same time you need to pick it all up in order to make gold.  This is something we have seen in other games and finally we are going to with Mists of Pandaria.

How does AoE looting work?

In fact you don't have to make any changes to how you play, or download any add-ons or even add a single icon to your already overcrowded task bar.  All you have to do is click on a mob you just killed.

When your character uses area of effects spells or attacks of any kind, by the time you are done, you are going to have several, if not more, dead mobs to loot.  In the game as it stands, you have to move from one mob to the next gathering up your loot.  Depending on where you are farming or leveling, this can take a lot of time and sometimes you’ll have to move on before you can gather all of the loot - not cool, right?

Now, imagine farming for Embersilk in Tol Barad and dropping a ton of Restless Soldiers, then being able to grab all of the loot with a single click of your mouse.  This is what AoE looting is all about and it is sure to make a big difference in several very important ways.

To start with, whether you are leveling a new Pandaren Monk or are trying to raise your trade skills, AoE looting is going to speed up the process by reducing the time you spend looting.  This in turn means more loot per hour and loads you up with the raw materials you need to level your skills more quickly.  It also means far more loot to sell or list in the Auction House to help you raise the gold you need for new gear.

It’s a simple feature, but already it is evident that it will have an immense impact not only how players farm for gold but how they spec their characters to speed up the looting process.  A much needed change to the game.

Have Fun!
