Diablo 3 Barbarian Leveling

Hacking Through the Levels Barbarian Style

When you play as a barbarian and your character rips through the hordes of demons and undead you can literally feel the strength of the character as the enemies get blasted by the blows of your massive weapon.

With a barbarian there is only one way to level up efficiently and that is to crush large groups of enemies as often as you possibly can. Learn to gather up your enemies and burn them down and you have a winning combination for efficient leveling. Since barbarians should always level in this way most leveling builds are similar, but even though the two tactics below are similar, they will play very differently and you should try both to get a feel for them.

Leaping Build
The leaping build focuses on the use of Leap regularly. With it you will hop between groups of enemies to gather them together. It is a mobile build that will make it more difficult to kill you while also creating larger groups of enemies. In this build only Leap and Wrath of the Berserker are different, all the other skills remain the same.

Wrath of the Berserker compliments the mobility offered
by Leap because it boosts your run speed as well as your attack attributes without requiring enemies to remain in one spot for your attacks to be effective.

Stomping Build
The stomping build is not nearly as mobile and it focuses on Ground Stomp to lock enemies in place with a stun. After the enemies are subdued you will unleash as much damage as you possibly can in a short period of time. You will be killing smaller groups of enemies with this build. Ground Stomp and Earthquake will be used instead of Leap and Wrath of the Berserker

After you get your enemies locked down with Ground Stomp you will unleash Earthquake to finish them off making this a very deadly build.

The Similarities
Since you understand how each of the builds is different, it’s time to learn how they are the same. The basic mechanics that make both builds so successful are exactly the same and by learning those mechanics you can be successful with either one.

Dealing the Damage
Your barbarian will unleash a series of Cleaves to deal damage while building up Fury. After his Fury is maxed out he will use Battle Rage to boost damage and burn all that Fury up with Rend. While you are battling, Revenge will dish out damage and heal you at the same time. The passive skills Ruthless and Brawler will also boost your damage even more, making it easier to finish off the enemies.

Survival
Both builds have a high survival rate for a number of reasons. The passive Pound of Flesh will help insure that you have full health with each new fight that you enter. Revenge will heal your character during the fight, and the high level of mobility or the ability to unleash a stun will help you manage your enemies making it possible to break out of a losing fight if necessary.

No matter which of these high powered barbarian builds you decide to go with you shouldn’t have a problem leveling quickly and efficiently.

Have Fun!
